Open Access 101 with Guest Speaker Robin Sinn

Please join us for a special one-hour session on Open Access Publishing, brought to you by your Health Sciences Library and the UTHSC Scholarly Communications Interest Group. Guest speaker Robin Sinn will discuss the history of open access, compliance with funder mandates, emergence of predatory publishing, and end with a Q&A.

Ahead of the session please visit our Padlet to share any questions or relevant topics you'd to see covered during the talk: Submit your questions about Open Access here!

More about our speaker:

Robin N Sinn is currently the Director of Collections & Open Strategies at Iowa State University Library. Transforming the scholarly publishing ecosystem to an open model is a goal of that work. Before joining ISU in August, 2021, Robin was the Coordinator of the Office of Scholarly Communication at the Sheridan Libraries of Johns Hopkins University. Her focus there was to support faculty and graduate students in making their research openly available. She presented and consulted on many topics, including Open Access, copyright, author’s rights, predatory publishers, and the many ways funder and publishers are working to make research open to the public.

Zoom link will be provided one week prior to the event via email.
