This 1 hour workshop explores best practices, common issues, and tools to help researchers create effective data visualizations. The session includes real world examples to demonstrate key concepts in visualizing research data and examples for attendees to practice new understandings. Feel free to bring your own data visuals for discussion!

·         Recognize common data visualizations, their best uses, and their limitations

·         Become familiar with software and tools for data visualization available to researchers

·         Understand the importance of effective visualizations for communicating research results and supporting reproducibility.
