Product Description
Donner Vowel Wah Pedal
Donner's Wah pedal is the go-to option that can bring you more intuitive dynamics and more aggressive sound to grab the listeners and make them to take notice.
Our advanced technique offers you a wild and expressive sound, ensuring every detail of your sound that can be hardly found on other products of the same kind.
Donner Wah Pedal - Your Best Decision
Two in One
- Equipped with an advanced analog circuit , Donner's new Volume/Wah pedal features both WAH WAH and VOLUME functions in one pedal.
- You can smoothly switch between Vol and Wah modes by pressing on the pedal with your foot. In the Wah mode, the LED lights will be red, then green for the Volume mode.
Extraordinary Sound Effect
- Based on the classical wah sound, Vowel can retain every single detail of your playing, enabling you to relish a more aggressive and expressive wah sound.
- It helps you control the sweep and dynamics of the wah effect, adding more texture to your performance and bringing the playing to a new level.
Compact and Solid Design
- Vowel features a sturdy plastic design: solid metal hinge under the well made durable plastic red housing.
- Despite the firm casing, it is a space saver on your pedal board. Thanks for the extremely light weight, you will never bother to adjust a heavy pedal at your gig.
Excellent Playability
- Wah is an effect that can be associated with the 60s-70s.
- Whether it’s bluegrass or new wave, punk or pop, wah has been a part of them. And it combines superbly with dirt pedals like Distortion/Overdrive/Fuzz. The ways you utilize Vowel are only limited by your necessity.
What is a wah pedal?
Wah is one of the most famous effects for guitar. And Wah pedal is a device which filters input signal and modulates the EQ to produce a vowel-like wah sound.
How does a wah pedal work?
The intensity of the filter is controlled by how much you move your foot back and forth on the metal plate. Professional guitarists can alter it to the beat so that the pedal sounds synchronised to the track of the music.
Where should I put it in my pedal chain?
Usually it will be put at the beginning to affect the EQ and tonal characteristics of the signal. But you can also put it at the end to exaggerate the sound at an extremely high level. It all depends on your usage habits.

The Boost Killer is reportedly a clone of the Xotic RC Booster. I've owned or played a several of the Xotic boost pedals, and the RC Booster is probably the most transparent of the bunch, providing a mostly clean boost to your guitar signal without terribly altering your underlying tone. But the Boost Killer is actually several pedals wrapped into one:
VOLUME CONTROL/BOOST - The simplest way to think about the Boost Killer is that it has the ability to boost (or attenuate) your guitar signal. With the volume knob at 12:00 and the gain knob all the way down, you get basically the same output as your bypass signal. You could turn up the volume to get a stronger signal into your amp (or compensate for weaker pickups). Or, you can even use the Boost Killer the quiet the signal of your guitar without changing the amp settings. I do the latter sometimes when practicing at home.
EQ SHAPER - In addition to boosting level, the Boost Killer has active cut/boost controls for Bass and Treble (+/- 15dB, I believe). This level of control is what makes this pedal so much more valuable than a traditional 1- or 2-knob boost. If your amp is too bright, if you want to roll off bass for a jangly tone, or if you want to add more bass AND treble for a more dynamic tone, you can do all of that on this micro pedal.
OVERDRIVE - The large knob on the Boost Killer is a gain knob. The Boost Killer by itself does not generate a ton of "gain", but it works well in conjunction with other pedals and into a dirty amp. However, even fed into my perfectly clean Boss Katana 100, I was getting some nice crunchy overdrive tones with the gain turned up.
This pedal is like a Swiss Army knife for your tone. It would have obvious benefits "pushing" a tube/valve amp, but at this price point, I think it would appeal even to novice players on solid state amps, which can sound sterile and abrasive at certain frequencies. It's one of those effects that seems to be working subtly...until you turn it off and realize how much better your tone sounds with it on.
I've finally used this pedal live and wanted to leave a review because it worked perfectly. Overall the pedal feels fairly sturdy. I'm mainly using this as a volume pedal in my live rig but I love having the wah on the board for at-home use. It really is a great size. The pedal resistance is a bit light but in a live setting, you really just adapt to it and it's not even noticeable.
I will say that if you want a pedal with an even sweep (such as a VP Jr.) than this may not be the pedal for you. Don't get me wrong, you can dial in all volume levels that you'd need, it's just very touch sensitive in the lower part of the volume range. This was a non-issue for me because I typically use the volume to pull back just a little bit, or boost just a little bit depending on where I'm sitting in the mix. It was perfect for that! Most of the sweep is from about 60% to 100% volume (in my estimation) and in a live situation, it was phenomenal.
Also, the wah sounds great - typical wah sound...one minor issue I had during practice is that I accidentally kicked it into wah during practice; it wasn't a huge issue but I am going to make something that will keep this from happening (something I can remove).
I highly recommend this for people looking for board space and those who are on a budget. I actually chose this pedal over a mini Dunlop and I have no regrets.

Preis / Leistung ist super.
To be honest I don’t find a lot of utility in 2-band EQ’s because of how important mid-range frequencies are to most, if not all instruments. However, it’s very nice to be able to tame the low-end of the pedal without touching the high-end. In other words, it could be better but it’s vastly superior to a simple tone knob.
The fit and finish of this pedal is great, there’s no quality issues or noises you don’t want it to make. It’s just a solid, tiny pedal that can add a bit more rock to your rig. I really love it’s sound with the gain flat out running into the clean channel of my Boss Katana 50. The Boss doesn’t have a very clean clean channel so adding a boost to it seems to give it a nicer character with a light overdrive. It makes the amp seem bigger and more tube-like which is a nice bonus.
Where I could see it shine too is being used as a traditional boost into a tube-amp. Add a bit of bass, keep the gain reasonable, boost the volume and then kick it in for a solo. That’s where the 2-band EQ becomes so much nicer than a tone knob because you can keep a bright and articulate sound for solos without pushing a thin sound right up front in the mix.
First impression, I love the colour and styling. The case is lightweight and made of plastic. However the plastic seems durable. I feel like I could hit it with a hammer and it would be find, I'm not going to test that theory though. The base is metal with stick on rubber feet. If you want to use velcro to mount this to a board you will want to take note of the small bump on the bottom of the plate to allow space for the control arm be pressed fully downward.
I have the previously released "Wah Cry" made by Donner, my issue with that pedal was that there was a manual switch to change the function and the stomp switch toggles on/off. With this pedal the toggle changes the function.
The volume function has good range and a nice sweep for volume swells. It is silent when all the way up without any noticable hiss or hum.
The switch switches easily but not so soft that you would accidently switch functions. There is led lights that change according to function. These are hard to see while practicing due to their placement under the treadle. The glow from LEDs is much easier to see in a darker room which is ideal for gigging.
The Wah is a classic sounding Wah sound and definitely functional for my needs and wahbilities.
Overall this is a durable and very lightweight pedal with seamless dual functionality. It is a fantastic option for any pedal board but especially for a user with limited space

At the moment, my chain is like this: Tuner -> DONNER BOOST KILLER -> EHX Soul Food -> Mooer Dark Secret -> EHX Big Muff Pi -> Fender The Bends COmpressor -> Boss GE7 EQ -> Boss NS2 Noise Suppressor and from there into the amp.
My modulation and time effects are in the amp's FX loop and, if you're interested, this comprises one or more of the following (never all at once, but mostly in this order): Mooer Ninety Orange Phaser, Mooer ElecLady Flanger, MXR Analog Chorus, Mooer Trelicopter tremolo, Digitech Obscura delay, Mooer Reecho Pro delay, Digitech Polara reverb. Morley volume pedal goes at the front or the back as required. This is a studio based board so positions are chopped and changed daily according to need.
Suffice to say, I'm getting a wide range of great tones (and some horrible ones, without much effort).
Build quality of the Boost Killer is good. No troubling noise that I can tell. Nice to be able to tweak bass and treble and a nice bit of hair when the gain is turned up. Form factor is great. Does anyone else think 'Boost Killer' seems like an odd name for a boost pedal?!
All in all, I'm pleased with the purchase and consider it good value for money. At some point I may try out the EXH booster, just for comparison, but for now I'm happy to recommend this pedal.
